Florida Lakefront Retirement Communities
Royal Harbor
The
Community of Royal Harbor is a popular lakefront community located on the northern shore of Little Lake Harris. Royal Harbor is an
active age restricted gated community. Royal Harbor contains approximately 700 total homes with 30 lakefront homes directly on
Little Lake Harris. Royal Harbor has numerous modern amenities such as an Olympic sized heated and enclosed pool, a huge
recreational center with separate work out rooms, game and computer rooms, a social hall, tennis and game courts, a lakefront dock and
picnic pavilion and much more.
In
addition, the Community is directly across the street from the largest Lakefront Park in the area, Hickory Point. Hickory
Point is a huge waterfront park with boat ramps and parking large enough to accommodate the largest boating and fishing tournaments.
In and out boat storage is available in the area giving residents convenient and affordable access to the Harris Chain of lakes.
Royal Harbor also has a large on-site storage area for resident
owned boats and campers.
Royal Harbor is a popular alternative for many people wishing to
live an active waterfront lifestyle without the high cost of
lakefront property.
The Lakes of Mount Dora
The Lakes of Mount Dora is an unique active 55+ community created
to address a high demand specific need. Many people wish to retire and live a lakefront lifestyle. Unfortunately, the high
cost of lakefront property excludes many potential buyers. The Lakes of Mount Dora is a large community located on Highway 44 east
of Eustis and north of downtown Mount Dora. Before the community was developed, this parcel contained a small spring-fed
lake. The developer expanded the lake to include a number of wide manmade canals. New homes were built along these canals,
which provided most residents with a waterfront lot. The canals are wide and the water levels and quality are maintained by
the community. The community has room for approximately 950 homes with nearly 70% either on the water or with a water view. Waterfront
homes range from 1,600 to 3,000 sq. ft. starting in $200s. The community has a huge 18,000 sq. ft. clubhouse with an outdoor resort style pool including
a state-of-the-art fitness center, hobby rooms, grand ballroom and a library.
